Finance and Banking
Banking lawyers can advise clients in financial matters. The financial and banking area of commercial law usually involves loans to companies.
Lawyers involved in such cases will have to:
- Ensure how and when the money will be received
- Prepare all documents required from the borrower as evidence for their loan (known as conditions precedent)
- Send the conditions precedent to the lender for final approval
This process usually takes 48 hours. After the loan has been granted, there are some remaining matters called post-completion. Post-completion usually entails registering the lender’s rights over the borrower’s assets.
